A tricky three hours on a low river , last Friday . Tiny dries scored , with a Parachute Greenwells being particularly successful. I fished upstream steadily , between ten and one in the afternoon . By eleven some medium olives were starting to show and i did see the odd hawthorn fly too …… Three lovely Arrow beauties , the usual stamp for here , lovely splashy satisfying takes to the dry , about eight to ten inches , then in a long shallow glide , i had a lovely slurping take to my dry ……. hell then broke loose , as i was into a cracking fish . He had me a real run around on the two weight , six foot rod !!!! Eventually subdued and slipped over the net , hook just about held , and it was seventeen inches of pure wild Perfection …….absolutely superb . A nice start to the long weekend ………
