Strewth , a low ,low river today ……. another of my usual haunts , and just a babbling stream , half its usual size , finding the resident brownies may be tricky as i tackled up looking over the bridge . My assumptions were correct , although fish were prepared to take a prospected dry eighteen Parachute Adams this morning .
Actually , sport was good , all things considered , managed five to the net , three slipped the barbless hook and i missed two lovely splashy rises to the dry fly !!!! Doooooh !!!!! oh well , can’t win them all . The brownies today all fat feisty healthy fish , between seven and ten inches in size ….. great fun catching them on the two weight rod !!!! We definately need a good two days of rain , and soon . In fact , a week of showers would be total tonic for the rivers ……..
