…….. headed for the lovely little River Edw yesterday , parked up by the bridge in the quiet little hamlet of Cregrina , had a chat with the farmer on his quad bike , who was most interested with the fishing and the Edw in general . Tackled up my usual rig , six foot , two weight rod and tied on a tiny Size eighteen Para Greenwells . Having ensured it was ginked up sufficiently , i walked down to the bottom of the beat , ready for a slow mooch up , as it turned out , sport was good , fish hammered my dry fly and seven handsome chaps made it to the net , a few didn’t but thats how it goes sometimes . A most enjoyable two and a half hours in this secretive peaceful valley . Fish happy to take on the surface now , and a good few mayflies seen from about tenish , when it really started to warm up . I was certainly ready for my cold can of diet coke out of the cool bag in the truck , hits the spot most definitely ! aaahhhhhhhhhhh ……….. back on the Arrow at the weekend with two clients …. should be fun !!
