With the bitting cold really setting in in the Cambrian Mountains as I write this little blog, night time temperatures have plummeted to below minus ten , leaving the landscape in a still, almost glassy coat of ice crystals . Beautiful it is, but as we all know very dangerous as well . General life especially these days means cranking up radiators, lobbing another log on the fire , and of course, those with animals, it’s a tough old time smashing water troughs, and ensuring everything can get to fresh water …. Always a trade off in life hey !!!!!! Jack Frost has done lots of overtime here in the Elenydd …… but, alas a break next week, slightly warmer, but some drizzle inbound . Beats driving on icy roads I guess …..
So, looking ahead to the 2023 season, it’s nice to let possible clients know just what superb hospitality is available here in Rhayader . The variety is vast, with a full on pub meal available, or a more sophisticated evening meal after a long day in the hills, dwelling over a fine whiskey,as you muse over the sporting day that you’ve had …………
To be honest, with such a huge variety of choice, it allows you to dine in a different location every day throughout an enjoyable long weekend. Accommodation is superb too, with welcoming warm rooms at The Lamb and Flag or Ty Morgan’s, too name a few. As well as the excellent food served at many of the locations within the town, local ales are superb as well, with a choice for all decerning real ale afficianados ………
That basically wraps up this blog on eateries and somewhere to rest that weary head, the photos basically speak for themselves …..The words I’d put to many of the pubs and resteraunts within the town are warm , inviting and moreish ! …And that describes the puddings as well as the real ales !!!!!!
It leaves me to say just a few words as we come to the close of what has been a damn difficult year for poor old Britain, what with rising energy bills, agencies in chaos, food prices rising, it goes on !!!!!! Try and have an excellent Christmas, stay well, health is everything, and let’s hope Spring awaits us with full reservoirs, clean running streams and the prospect of an excellent Season ahead ……….. A very Merry Christmas to you all.
